4 simple steps to FREEDOM

For many of us over here in the United States, today is the day we celebrate our Freedom.

I've been thinking about Freedom, lately. Ever since I asked myself the question:

"What is it, that you truly want, in life?"

Freedom to be happy, sad, have my own opinion, eat ice cream every day.

Practicing freedom, on the other hand, is…

He Told Me I Was Pathetic...And I Believed Him

He told me I was a weakling.  He told me that I should be ashamed of myself.  He told me a lot of nasty things.  And he made sure to repeat them day in and day out for an entire year.  His words became embedded in my consciousness.  I believed that I was weak.

"How long is it going to be before I start to feel better?"

"How many sessions is it going to take?"

"Why do I feel worse now?"

These questions usually pop up soon after someone starts with their Myofascial Journey.

I spent some time in on the beautiful beaches of Florida last week and there are amazing shells. I happened to find this one here:

Looking inside at its perfect coils, echoing the outside coil, I was reminded of how healing is not a straight line, but more of a spiral. Like …

The myth that cracking your knuckles causes arthritis may have been put to bed but there’s more to consider than just that.

Chronic manipulation of the joints or the soft tissue is when we are constantly popping or cracking the same joint or constantly digging into the same tense muscle to get relief.  Yes, it does bring relief, but in the long term you may be doing a disservice to yourself.

I’m not suggesting you go cold turkey and never pop your joints.  For some of us, myself inc…
